Germination of
Adenium obesum
Crimson Desert Rose Bonsai Tree - Adenium, Impala Lily, Desert Rose
Adenium obesum seeds should be soaked in water for 24-48 hours before planting to encourage germination. After soaking, the seeds can be planted in a well-draining, sandy soil mix. The soil should be moist but not wet, and the seeds should be covered lightly with soil. The pot should then be covered with plastic wrap or placed in a plastic bag to create a humid environment. The pot should be kept in a warm, bright location but out of direct sunlight. Germination can take anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks.
Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.
Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here. Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only. Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.
It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
