Germination of

Aechmea coelestis 'Albomarginata'

Aechmea coelestis 'Albomarginata'

Sowing Time: Best sown in spring or summer.
Seed Preparation: Soak seeds in lukewarm water for a few hours before sowing.
Sowing Depth: Surface sow the seeds, lightly pressing them into the soil but not covering them.
Light Requirements: Bright, indirect light or filtered sunlight is ideal.
Humidity Requirements: Maintain high humidity by covering the seed tray with a plastic dome or using a humidity tent.
Temperature: Keep at a consistent temperature of 70-80°F (21-27°C).
Watering: Mist the surface regularly to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged.
Germination Time: Seeds usually germinate within 3-6 weeks.
Transplanting: Transplant seedlings when they have a few true leaves and are strong enough to handle.

Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here.  Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only.  Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.
