Germination of

Albizia saman

Rain Bonsai Tree - Podocarpus macrophyllus, Buddhist Pine, Yew Pine

Albizia saman

Albizia saman, also known as the rain tree, is a tropical tree with a broad, spreading canopy. The seeds should be sown in the spring, after the last frost. Soak the seeds in water for 24 hours before planting. Prepare a well-draining soil mix and sow the seeds 1 inch deep. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged and place the container in a warm, bright location. Germination usually occurs within 7 to 21 days.

Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.

Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here.  Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only.  Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.

It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
