Germination of
Albuca setosa
White Albuca: Slime Lily, White Flowering Onion, Fragrant Albuca
Albuca setosa is a bulbous plant that requires well-draining soil and bright, indirect sunlight. Sow the seeds in a potting mix that contains sand and peat moss and cover them with a thin layer of soil. Water the seeds lightly and keep the soil moist until the seeds germinate. Place the pot in a warm, bright location and maintain regular watering. The seeds will germinate within 1-2 weeks, and the seedlings can be transplanted into individual pots or into the garden once they are large enough to handle.
Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.
Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here. Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only. Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.
It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
