Germination of
Annona Muricata
Soursop: Guanabana, Brazilian Pawpaw, Corossol, Graviola, Custard Apple

Annona Muricata, commonly known as Soursop, is a tropical fruit tree that requires warm temperatures for germination. The seeds of the fruit should be removed and cleaned of any pulp or flesh before planting. The seeds should be sown in well-draining soil mix, preferably with some sand or perlite added, and watered regularly to keep the soil moist. The seeds need a warm and humid environment to germinate, so it is recommended to cover the container with a plastic wrap or dome to maintain high humidity. A temperature range of 25-30C (77-86F) is ideal for germination, which can take anywhere from 2-6 weeks. Once the seedlings have emerged, gradually acclimate them to lower humidity levels and reduce watering to prevent fungal diseases.
Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.
Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here. Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only. Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.
It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
