Germination of

Buddleja globosa

Gold Ball Butterfly Bush, Orange Ball Tree, Butterfly Bush

Buddleja globosa

Buddleja globosa: Buddleja globosa, or Orange Ball Tree, seeds can be germinated by stratification. Mix the seeds with moistened vermiculite or peat moss, and place the mixture in a sealed plastic bag. Refrigerate the bag for 4 to 6 weeks. After stratification, sow the seeds in well-draining soil, about 1/4 inch deep. Keep the soil consistently moist and provide a temperature of around 70-75°F (21-24°C). Germination may take several weeks to several months.

Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.

Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here.  Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only.  Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.

It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
