Germination of

Capsicum annuum

Midnight Dreams Sweet Bell Pepper

Capsicum annuum

Capsicum annuum: Capsicum annuum, or Bell Pepper, seeds require warmth for germination. Start the seeds indoors in a seed tray or pots about 8 to 10 weeks before the last frost date. Sow the seeds ¼ inch deep in moist seed-starting mix. Maintain a temperature of around 70-80°F (21-27°C) and keep the soil consistently moist. Germination typically takes 7 to 14 days.

Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.

Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here.  Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only.  Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.

It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
