Germination of
Carpinus turczaninowii
Korean Hornbeam Bonsai Tree: Carpinus turczaninovii, Korean Hornbeam

Carpinus turczaninowii (Turczaninow's Hornbeam): To germinate Turczaninow's Hornbeam seeds, start by soaking them in cool water for 24-48 hours. After soaking, plant the seeds in a well-draining soil mix, covering them with 1-2 inches of soil. Keep the container in a cool, bright location with partial shade. Keep the soil moist but not overly wet. Germination can be slow and irregular, ranging from 2-6 weeks or longer.
Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.
Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here. Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only. Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.
It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
