Germination of

Celtis laevigata

Sugarberry, Southern Hackberry, Honeyberry, Jujube Hackberry, Celtis Laevigata, Mississippi Hackberry, Sweetberry Tree, Sugar Hackberry, Lowland Hackberry

Celtis laevigata

Cold Stratification: Mix seeds with moist sand and refrigerate for 90-120 days.
Soaking: After stratification, soak in warm water for 24 hours.
Soil: Loamy, well-draining soil with some organic matter.
Depth: Plant 1/2 inch deep.
Temperature & Humidity: 70-85°F (21-29°C).
Watering: Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
Light: Full sun to partial shade.
Germination Time: 1-3 months.
