Germination of

Citrus limon

Lemon Citrus Fruit: Sour Orange, Lemonade Fruit, Citrus Limon, Sweet Lime

Citrus limon

Citrus limon: Citrus limon, commonly known as the lemon tree, can be propagated from seed. The seeds should be extracted from a fresh lemon and rinsed with water to remove any pulp. The seeds should be sown in a well-draining soil mix and kept moist. The ideal temperature for germination is between 20C to 25C. Germination can take anywhere from 2 weeks to a few months, depending on the conditions.

Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.

Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here.  Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only.  Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.

It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
