Germination of

Citrus X aurantium

Bitter Orange,Seville Orange, Sour Orange, Bigarade Orange, Neroli Orange, Wild Orange, Marmalade Orange, Citrus Aurantium, Bitter Sweet Orange

Citrus X aurantium

Scarification: Gently rub seeds with sandpaper or nick them slightly to improve water absorption.
Soaking: Soak in warm water for 24 hours.
Planting Medium: Use a well-draining mix of peat, perlite, and sand.
Depth: Plant 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep.
Humidity & Temperature: Keep at 70-85°F (21-29°C) with high humidity (cover with plastic wrap or use a humidity dome).
Watering: Keep soil moist but not soggy.
Light: Bright, indirect sunlight or artificial grow lights.
Germination Time: 2-16 weeks.

Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here.  Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only.  Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.
