Cucumis dipsaceus: Cucumis dipsaceus, or Horned Melon, seeds can be directly sown outdoors after the last frost date. Sow the seeds on the soil surface and lightly cover them with a thin layer of soil. Maintain a temperature of around 70-80°F (21-27°C) and keep the soil consistently moist. Germination usually takes 7 to 10 days.
