Germination of

Dactylopsis digitata

Living Fingers: Green Fingers, Tropical Fingers, Finger Plant, Skinny Cactus

Dactylopsis digitata

Dactylopsis digitata: The seeds of Dactylopsis digitata can be germinated by sowing them in well-draining soil mix. Soak the seeds in water for 24 hours before sowing to enhance the germination rate. Sow the seeds just below the soil surface and keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. Place the container in a warm, bright location, but not in direct sunlight. Germination can take several weeks to several months, so be patient and maintain a consistent level of moisture in the soil.

Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.

Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here.  Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only.  Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.

It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
