Sow Dianthus caryophyllus seeds indoors in a seed tray with well-draining soil. Plant them about 1/4 inch deep. Maintain a temperature of around 60-70°F (15-21°C) and keep the soil consistently moist. Transplant seedlings into larger pots or the garden when they are a few inches tall. Germination usually takes a couple of weeks.
