Germination of
Drosera anglica
Great English Sundew: Drosera anglica, English Sundew
Drosera anglica: The seeds of Drosera anglica can be sown in a well-draining soil mixture, such as a mixture of equal parts of sand, perlite, and peat moss. The soil should be moistened and the seeds should be scattered on the surface, and then covered with a thin layer of sand. The seeds should be kept moist and cool, with a temperature of around 60-65F (15-18C) and covered with a plastic lid or plastic wrap to maintain humidity. The seeds should germinate in 2-4 weeks and should be kept in a cool and humid environment until the seedlings have grown their first set of true leaves.
Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.
Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here. Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only. Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.
It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
