Germination of
Echeveria shaviana
Pink Frills Echeveria / Mexican Hens: Pink frills echeveria, Mexican hens, Mexican snowball
Echeveria shaviana: Echeveria shaviana seeds can be germinated indoors in a well-draining seed starting mix. Sow the seeds on the surface of the soil and cover them with a thin layer of sand or grit. Maintain a temperature between 70-75F (21-24C) and keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. The seeds should germinate within two to four weeks. Once the seedlings have developed a few sets of true leaves, they can be transplanted into their own containers or a larger container with a well-draining succulent mix.
Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.
Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here. Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only. Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.
It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
