Eriobotrya japonica

GERMINATION METHOD (direct sow vs start indoors, etc.) Sow fresh seed promptly in pots; avoid letting seeds dry. Keep warm and bright. PRE-TREATMENT (scarification / stratification / soaking, only if required) Clean seed thoroughly; optional brief soak if seed has dried slightly. SOWING DEPTH About 1–2 cm deep. LIGHT REQUIREMENT (light/dark to germinate) Not critical. TEMP RANGE Warm room temperatures. MOISTURE & MEDIUM Even moisture in a well‑draining mix. DAYS TO GERMINATE Often a few weeks to about a month when fresh. NOTES (dormancy quirks, transplant tips, etc.) Transplant carefully once roots fill the pot. Maintain steady moisture for young plants.

Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.

Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here.  Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only.  Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.

It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
