Gentiana septemfida: Gentiana septemfida, or Crested Gentian, seeds require a period of cold stratification for germination. Mix the seeds with moistened vermiculite or peat moss, and place the mixture in a sealed plastic bag. Refrigerate the bag for 4 to 6 weeks. After cold stratification, sow the seeds on the soil surface and lightly press them into the soil. Maintain a temperature of around 55-65°F (13-18°C) and keep the soil consistently moist. Germination can take several weeks to several months.
