GERMINATION METHOD (direct sow vs start indoors, etc.) Start indoors in sterile containers (covered tray/bag method). Use a fine cactus seed mix with extra mineral content. PRE-TREATMENT (scarification / stratification / soaking, only if required) None typically required; sterile medium and clean water matter most. SOWING DEPTH Surface sow; press seeds gently into the surface. Do not bury. LIGHT REQUIREMENT (light/dark to germinate) Bright light helps; shield from harsh direct sun while covered. TEMP RANGE Warm germination; roughly 21–30°C (70–86°F). MOISTURE & MEDIUM Keep evenly moist in a covered environment, but avoid standing water. Vent briefly if condensation is excessive. DAYS TO GERMINATE Usually 2–8+ weeks. NOTES (dormancy quirks, transplant tips, etc.) Open the cover gradually to harden seedlings. Keep in bright light to prevent stretching. Move to a grittier mix once large enough.

Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.

Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here.  Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only.  Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.

It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
