Germination of
Lithops glaudinae 'Embers'
Ember Lithops: Lithops optica (also known as Living Stones or Flowering Stones)
Lithops glaudinae 'Embers': Lithops glaudinae 'Embers' is a succulent that requires a specific germination method. Start by soaking the seeds in room temperature water for 24 hours. Then, fill a container with a well-draining soil mix and moisten it with water. Spread the seeds evenly on top of the soil and cover them with a thin layer of sand or fine gravel. Place the container in a bright, warm location with indirect sunlight. Keep the soil moist but not overly wet by misting it with water as needed. The seeds will germinate in about 2-4 weeks. Once the seedlings are established, remove the cover and provide them with adequate sunlight.
Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.
Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here. Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only. Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.
It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
