Germination of
Nepenthes ampullaria 'red'
Red Flask Pitcher Plant - Sarracenia rubra, Red Tube Sarracenia, Trumpet Pitcher Plant

Nepenthes ampullaria 'red' is a species of tropical pitcher plant that is known for its attractive red coloration. To germinate Nepenthes ampullaria 'red' seeds, start by preparing a well-draining soil mixture of sphagnum moss and perlite in equal parts. Sow the seeds on top of the soil mixture and cover them with a thin layer of sphagnum moss. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, and place the pot in a warm, bright location with indirect sunlight. Germination can take anywhere from several weeks to several months.
Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.
Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here. Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only. Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.
It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
