Germination of

Passiflora edulis f. flavicarpa

Passion Fruit Flower: Passiflora, Passionflower, Maypop, Granadilla, Maracuja

Passiflora edulis f. flavicarpa

Passiflora edulis f. flavicarpa: Passiflora edulis f. flavicarpa seeds can be slow to germinate and require some patience. Start by soaking the seeds in warm water for 24-48 hours to soften the seed coat. Next, plant the seeds in a well-draining potting mix, covering them lightly with soil. Keep the soil moist and warm, ideally between 75-80F (24-27C). Germination can take anywhere from 2-8 weeks, so be patient and continue to keep the soil moist during this time.

Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.

Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here.  Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only.  Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.

It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
