Germination of
Primula auricula
Primrose Mix: Primrose, Primula, Primrose mix

Primula auricula seeds require a period of cold stratification to encourage germination. Start by sowing the seeds in a pot filled with moist, well-draining soil mix. Place the pot in the refrigerator, or in a cool, dark location with a temperature of around 40-45F. Leave the pot there for 4-6 weeks, checking the soil moisture levels periodically. After the stratification period, move the pot to a bright location with a temperature of around 60F. Keep the soil slightly moist and germination should occur in approximately 2-3 weeks.
Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.
Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here. Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only. Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.
It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
