Germination of
Rhipsalis ramulosa
Mistletoe Cactus, Rat Tail Cactus, Spaghetti Cactus
Rhipsalis ramulosa: Rhipsalis ramulosa is a type of cactus that can be propagated through seed. To germinate the seeds, start by preparing a well-draining potting mix with equal parts peat moss, perlite, and sand. Sow the seeds in the mix and cover lightly with a thin layer of sand. Mist the surface of the mix with water to keep it moist, and cover the container with a clear plastic bag or lid to maintain humidity. Place the container in a warm, bright location, ideally with temperatures between 70-80F (21-27C). Germination can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.
Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.
Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here. Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only. Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.
It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
