Germination of

Sarracenia purpurea 'Hetrophylla'

Purple Trumpet Plant 'Gold Form' - Allamanda, Golden Trumpet Vine

Sarracenia purpurea 'Hetrophylla'

Sarracenia purpurea 'Heterophylla': Sarracenia purpurea 'Heterophylla' is a cultivar of the purple pitcher plant. The seeds should be sown in a well-draining soil mix and kept moist. They require cold stratification to germinate, which can be achieved by placing the seeds in a plastic bag with moist soil and refrigerating them for 4-6 weeks. After stratification, the seeds should be sown on the surface of the soil mix and kept moist. The ideal temperature range for germination is 18-24C (64-75F). Germination can take anywhere from 1 to 3 months.

Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.

Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here.  Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only.  Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.

It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
