Germination of
Sedum-spurium 'Coccineum'
Dragon's Blood: Blood of the Dragon, Dragon's Blood Sage, Red Resin
Sedum spurium 'Coccineum', also known as stonecrop, can be started indoors or outdoors. If starting indoors, sow the seeds in a seed starting tray with seed starting mix and keep the soil moist. The tray should be kept in a warm location with plenty of sunlight. Once the seedlings emerge and grow a few leaves, they can be transplanted into larger pots or directly into the ground. If starting outdoors, scatter the seeds over a prepared soil bed and cover lightly with soil. Keep the soil moist until the seedlings emerge and grow a few leaves.
Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.
Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here. Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only. Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.
It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
