Germination of

Utricularia calycifida

Peach Flowered Bladderwort: Utricularia, Yellow Bladderwort, Humped Bladderwort, Swollen Bladderwort, Coneflower Bladderwort

Utricularia calycifida

Utricularia calycifida: Utricularia calycifida seeds require a specific method to germinate. Start by soaking the seeds in distilled water for 24-48 hours to rehydrate them. Next, plant the seeds in a nutrient-poor soil mix, such as sphagnum moss or a peat/perlite mixture. Keep the soil moist and place the container in a location with bright, indirect light. Maintain high humidity by covering the container with a plastic dome or bag to retain moisture. Germination can take 2-4 weeks, and once the seedlings are established, gradually acclimate them to lower humidity and brighter light conditions.

Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.

Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here.  Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only.  Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.

It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
